The only Way to Reduce the Amount of Traffic in Cities Today: Writing Task 2

The only way to reduce the amount of traffic in cities today is by reducing the need for people to travel from home for work, education or shopping. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It goes without saying that traffic congestion has become a prominent cause in the modern era due to the rapid increase in the intensity of transportation. There is one alternative to overcome this problem in the metropolitan city to update the requirements of individuals who prefer to go out on some sort of crucial errands such as work, education or shopping. I disagree with this notion, and I will like to explicate its length in the paragraphs to come.

The first and foremost reason is that decreasing the amount of movement of people from one place to another to commute from home to work for education is a better option to control the rate of traffic, but this method is not much affected. In other words, people have liberty and the right to easily travel in any location without interruption from others, so these practices affect the people’s lifestyle, and they would be deprived of numerous social skills and become ideal. For instance, during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown majority of individuals suffered from drastic consequences because of a lack of exposure and communication. As a result, they involved serious complications in their lifestyle.

On the other hand, there are several ways to overcome this issue of traffic by increasing the prices of fossil fuels so that people get to avoid moving freely without any urgency. To be clear, people put their intention to using the public mode of transportation such as buses trains and other, as a result, the main problem of traffic would be sort in few time. For example, in the USA, the government hiked the taxes on petroleum due to rapidly increasing traffic problems in their country. After that, the number of traffic jams takes a nosedive, and people follow the instruction of public transport. In addition, people also use the service of the internet, which they can order and prefer online shopping without any hurdles and interact with the social media; this leads them they always get connected with their friends and enhance their bonding with each other.

To put it in a nutshell, I pen down saying that keeping people at home is not a vital solution for solving this crisis of traffic congestion. Therefore, higher authorities would invest in improving the condition of traffic with their small steps.
