The Diagram Below Shows how Electricity Is Generated in A Hydroelectric Power Station (2) (1)

The diagram below shows how electricity is generated in a hydroelectric power station. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The given process diagram depicts how the power is generated in a hydroelectric power station in various steps.

Overall, it is evident that the process initiates from the river water to the Low-level reservoir during the daytime and vice-versa during the nighttime. Moreover, the predominant role in the entire process consists of mainly power stations and also river water to process the electricity.

From the given diagram, the river water is stored in the high-level reservoir under the dam. Whilst the dam gates open during the daytime, then the water flow passes from the pipes to the power station. Moreover, the power station consists of reversible turbines, which operate the generator. In the long run, the generator provides the electricity with the power lines which pass to the national grid.

Conversely, during the night time, the water pushes back to the generator from the low-level reservoir and then flow of water passes through the pump to the high-level reservoir and the process continues for the generation of electricity in both day and nights. Furthermore, the dam gates close during the nighttime.
