The Environmental Problems that Today’s World Is Facing Are so Great that There Is Little Ordinary (2)

The environmental problems that today’s world is facing are so great that there is little ordinary people can do to improve the situation. So governments and large organizations should be responsible for reducing the amount of damage being done to the environment. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own experience or knowledge.

The Environmental Problems that Today’s World Is Facing Are so Great that There Is Little OrdinaryNowadays, global warming, climate change, environmental population and other environmental problems are becoming a threat to the world, which affects the life of individuals in every part of the globe. As a matter of fact, most people argue that an individual’s effort to combat this challenge is boiling the ocean. In order to halt the progression of environmental problems and reverse the negative impact, the government and other responsible organizations will play an invaluable role. I personally agree with this idea, and I will explain my reasons as follows.

To begin with, if we tried to see the main causes of environmental problems, it laid on giant industries and projects, which are controlled by either the government or other organizations. In the past, there were several attempts to improve global warming at the individual level, but none of them was effective. One of the important lessons learned from experience is that if we need to tackle climate change and other environmental threats as well, we should encourage the involvement of all stakeholders, particularly the government and other organizations.

Furthermore, the other crucial importance of why government involvement is necessary is that measures to fight environmental problems require huge budgets, resource allocation and policy changes. For instance, in the USA during President Donald Trump’s administration, the country had isolated itself from the Paris treaty, which was to decrease global warming by at least 2 degrees Centigrade. These would have been achieved if governments had taken different actions to limit carbon emissions from big factories. Meanwhile, countries like the USA were worried about economic growth as they withdrew from the agreement. So, to overcome such challenges, a high level of commitment is expected from the governments, and the policymakers should design alternative environmentally friendly energy sources. For this, we can mention Japan as an example; more than 90percent of Japan’s energy is produced from nuclear plants, which has very minimal impact on the environment as compared to fuel.

In addition, it is also good to give credit for European Union initiatives, that is, to replace all cars in Europe with electric cars by the end of 2035. Thus, one of the causes of environmental problems will be solved. Similarly, there are organizations like green lives, which are trying to mobilize the whole world to create awareness about global warming and financially support research to find environmentally friendly technologies; interestingly, it has shown amazing results like bottles that can be composted to replace the plastic bottle, which takes more than million years to be fermented.

To summarize, to make the world a better place for living things, including human beings, other animals and plants, it is a matter of life and death to fight environmental problems. And for successful results, involvement of the government and other organizations is necessary. In fact, individual effort alone was not effective and will not be as well.
