The pie charts below give information on the ages of the populations of Oman and Spain in 2005 and projections for 2055. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and making comparisons where relevant. Write at least 150 words.


The given pie chart illustrates the data of three different age group of two countries which is Oman and Spain. The information is given from the survey of 2005 and the prediction rate of both countries.

Overall it is clear that the geriatric population is higher in both countries, according to the past report as well as the prediction report. However, Spain expects a double the number of population in adolescent to the elderly group.

To begin with, in 2005, according to Oman, the elderly(60+year) population and 0-14 years aged group rate was less than a half(24%). However, they reported the least age group in their population in between 15-59. In contrast, Spain had the less age group in between 0-14, which is only 14%, and the highest population was above 60 years age people it was 62% and the less than a quarter of people in 15-59 age group

According to Spain forecast, the age group between 15-59 years people are going to double in a number of total population rate which will be 42%. But the other two age group proportion shows a decline in percentage that is 0-14 years will be 12% and 60+ years will be 46% respectively. When comparing to Oman60+year age group people will be 57%, and the children group would be 30% and last, but not least the middle-aged group will be only 6%.
