Write to your teacher. In your letter:

Thank him/her
Tell him/her why you had to leave
Tell the things you liked about the course

Dear Sir/Madam,

I hope this letter finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for your dedication to teaching and mentoring me during my time in your course. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to leave the course and return home before completing it.

As you may recall, I had expressed to you earlier in the semester that I was dealing with some personal issues that may impact my ability to continue the course. Despite my best efforts, the situation became more challenging, and I had to make the difficult decision to leave the course.

I regret that I was not able to complete the course and meet all of the learning objectives we had set out to achieve. However, I am grateful for the knowledge and skills that I was able to gain during the time that I spent in your class.

Your expertise in the subject matter was evident in the engaging lectures and thought-provoking discussions that took place in the classroom. I appreciated the practical applications of the course material, which helped me to see how the concepts we were learning could be applied in real-world scenarios.

Additionally, I found the assignments and projects to be challenging and rewarding, providing opportunities for me to demonstrate my understanding of the course material while also encouraging creativity and critical thinking.

Although I am disappointed that I was unable to complete the course, I want to thank you for the guidance and support that you provided me during my time in your class. I will always value the knowledge and skills that I acquired and carry them with me throughout my academic and professional endeavors.

Sincerely,
Aman

Dear Sir/Madam,

I hope this letter finds you in good health and spirits. I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for all the support and guidance that you provided me during my studies in your course. However, it is with great regret that I must inform you that I had to leave the course midway and return to my home country due to unforeseen personal circumstances.

I had been experiencing some family issues that had been weighing heavily on my mind and, unfortunately, they escalated beyond what I could manage from a distance. As a result, I had to leave the course to attend to the situation back home. While I am devastated that I could not complete the course, I am grateful for the opportunity to have studied under your tutelage.

I found your style of teaching and methodology to be engaging and challenging at the same time. Your interactive approach in class discussions and practical applications of the course material helped me develop a better understanding of the subject. I particularly enjoyed the group assignments as it enabled me to collaborate with my peers, hone my interpersonal skills and also learn from their perspectives. The course has provided me with a solid foundation, which I hope to build upon in the future.

I want to express my sincere gratitude for your willingness to help me navigate my challenges during my time in your course. Your support and guidance were invaluable, and I am forever indebted to you for that. I also want to thank you for being patient and understanding when I had to explain my situation to you.

Once again, thank you for your dedication to your students, and I am hopeful that circumstances will allow me to continue my studies in the future.

Sincerely,

Vivek
