Question 1:- Where is your hometown?

Answer – My hometown is located in the coastal part of Mauritius, and it has the most amazing sea view of the island. My hometown is renowned for its clean beaches and its fresh ocean breeze.

Question 2:- How often do you visit your hometown?

Answer – I am currently living in my hometown, and I was away for about six years when I was studying in a medical school in China. I returned nearly five years ago, and ever since then, I have been staying in my hometown; I cannot imagine living somewhere else when I am In Mauritius.

Question 3:- How many people live in your hometown?

Answer – The number of inhabitants is approximately 5,000, including children. So it a quite a small population compared to other areas. Most of the people in my hometown know each other quite well.

Question 4:- What is your hometown famous for?

Answer – As I said earlier, it is famous for its clean sandy beaches but also for the local cuisine, which is prawn curry. During the tourist season, prawn curry won’t be ably available to local citizens as most tourists would drain the whole stock of prawns.

Question 5:- What’s the oldest part of your hometown?

Answer – The most antique part, I would say, is a photography museum where the most antique camera used in the previous century, together with their rolls, are displayed. There will be several models of cameras of different pixels, along with a picture taken from each for comparison.

Question 6:- Who was your favourite teacher in high school?

Answer – My favourite teacher was my maths teacher, and I never knew maths could be that easy as well as fun. It was my least favourite subject in my primary school, and I think the credit goes to my primary school teacher, who would always devise difficult methods to explain even the simplest calculation.

Question 7:- What’s your favourite subject in high school?

Answer – Maths, I would say definitely, because I was really impressed by my high school teacher; in addition, science was my all-time favourite as whatever we learn from science could be directly applied to our real life in some way which makes its understanding even more meaningful.

Question 8:- Do you still remember what happened on your first day of high school?

Answer – My first day of high school was like any other regular school day. However, the only difference was we were considered to be the senior students at school and expected to set the example for the junior students by always being punctual, behaving conveniently and most importantly study hard to shape our bright future.

Question 9:- Do you still keep in touch with your friends from high school?

Answer – Yes, absolutely, but not being of them. As they say, high school friends are those friends that have seen you grow, they have seen your highs and lows, and they know all our little secrets, insecurities. High school friends are different, and they cannot be substituted by other friends that you make along with your university life or at work.

Question 10:- Do you miss your life in high school

Answer – I do miss my high school life terribly. To be honest, I want to go back to those carefree days where there were no responsibilities, no expectations. We were considered to be the future of our country and given all the priorities and attention by our parents and elderly. Those were days that we will always wish we could go back, I guess.
