Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Parents are the best teachers. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. You should give reasons for your answer using your own ideas and experience.
In order to have one’s child become a better person and develop holistically, some people are of the view that parents are the best teachers. I completely agree with the notion.
Firstly, the parents are the first point of contact with the child right after birth. They teach the child how to eat liquids from infancy to eating solids as they grow. To guide them on what foods are good and not good for them.
Another point to consider is that parents are the ones who teach their wards to communicate effectively—guiding them on how to talk, when to say what and whatnot. Furthermore, they teach their kids to be mobile. Assisting them with their first baby step, to walking and running.
In conclusion, right from birth, parents have the privilege of moulding their wards into whatever they desire as the first point of learning for the child is the home right with his/her caregivers. Thus the child consciously or unconsciously picks up what is happening around him, be it positive or negative.
Studies have shown that children learn by observing and doing. A child is most likely to be emulating you, so be sure to be a good role model. If you want to inculcate the habit of reading to your kids, you have to be an ardent reader yourself.
