The graph illustrates the percentage of people within different age groups that attend the cinema in the UK in the years 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005 and 2010.
Individuals within the ages of 44 -54 recorded the highest percentage of people attending cinema over the years, and individuals within the range of 4 -24 recorded the lowest percentage. The graph shows a slight increment in the percentage of cinema attendees for all age groups from 1990 to 1995. In the year 2000, there was a general fall in the percentage for all leading to the lowest percentage seen in all the groups. In the year 2010, the highest percentage of cinema attendance for individuals of all age groups.
In 2010, the age range 44 – 54 recorded approximately fifty per cent of cinema attendance which was the highest. Range 14 – 24 recorded twenty per cent, which is less than half of the highest percentage seen.
From the graph, it is seen that the popularity of cinema attendance increases with age. The older generation enjoys cinema attendance as compared to the younger ones.
