Some people think that a sense of competition in children should be encouraged. Others believe that children who are taught to co-operate rather than compete become more useful adults. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion
In our society, some people believe that children should be encouraged to keep a competitive feeling whereas others think that in spite of competition, young adults should be in a cooperative environment. In the following paragraphs, I will discuss both the arguments and also give my point of view.
To begin with, children should always be motivated to be competitive against their peers. This will keep them focused on being the best and gives them a sense of gratification when they secure top-most grades in their exams. Being in a competitive environment invariably ignites their zeal for studying more and achieving the best to their capacity. For instance, if students do not have their fellow competitors, there will be no stimulation to put extra effort to secure the highest rank. Additionally, parents should also recognize their child’s achievement, which could boost them to perform well in their careers.
On the other side, youngsters should always try to create a conducive environment without discriminating between intelligent and weaker students. With this kind of surroundings, children should help each other in every aspect of the study, sports or any other activities. Being in a cooperative environment, young adults can learn many new things, which would not have been possible if they had done things individually. Through this culture, they would understand the importance of team bonding and not leave any space to develop envious feelings towards their mates.
In conclusion, guardians should always teach their offspring to develop a healthy competitive environment where children should understand that by helping other students, they will get to know new things that will help them flourish in their careers and not losing anything. Along with this, they should also be taught to take every competition in a sporting spirit and not look at their opponent negatively.
