Intro

I’m keen interested in reading a newspaper daily and enjoy reading some technology and lifestyle related magazines. There are lots of interesting, thought-provoking and intriguing articles that I often enjoy and today I would like to talk about one such article that I recently read.

what the article was

The article was about fraud these days done by people. Let me explain it, the biggest bank of India State bank of India aware people to be alert when they plug-in charging sockets to charge their cell phones at public places like bus stands, shopping centers, railway stations, and etcetera. SBI claimed and alert that fraudsters may take secret information that includes emails, wallet photos, contacts, net banking or social website password. To commit such a crime, fraudsters make use of Malware White software.

when and where you read it

I vividly remember that I was traveling to Chandigarh form my hometown and I heard a man talking about this fraud over the phone with someone. After listening to him, I searched about it one this internet and found an article written on a website www.beaware.com.

what you learned from the article

this article gave me the whole information about how fraudsters commit this crime and steal the important information of people from their phones. To carry out this process hackers attach ‘Auto Data Transfer device’ just behind the charging port at public stations, when people put their USB cable in charging port then their mobile screen gets a pop-up message which users often ignore and click on the allow button without reading the description written in the dialog box and which results in the exportation of their confidential information into the ‘Auto Data Transfer device’. In this way, hackers get the allowance to have your personal data into their memory device.

and explain why you think it is a good or bad article.

I can say that this article gave me really fruitful information about that scam done these days. When I asked my friends about this scam they didn’t have any information about it. So I copied and sent this article to them. In fact, this article contains the ways to Rescue ourselves from this trap. Rather than charging your cell phones at public places,. People should invest money into a convenient USB battery pack from well-known vendors. Moreover, this article recommended people to buy wireless charging compatible phones. These phones are good enough to keep us safe as we don’t have a need to connect our phones directly with charging ports.
