In some countries, many parents are interested in homeschooling, and the trend is gaining popularity. Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?
In recent times, a host of parents prefer online education, which has become popular presently in some countries. I believe that the advantage of this trend outweighs the negative side; my inclination will be justified in the following paragraphs, along with a logical conclusion.
There are several reasons why I believe homeschooling has more advantages. First and foremost, children development is the responsibility of their parents. In this tech-savvy era, children easily allure or adopt things they show on the internet or computer screen. Hence, if they get in touch with a bad habited person or peers, they easily become addicted to it, such as gambling or drinking alcohol. Secondly, pupils get an education without going to school is beneficial in terms of economically and health. It saves travelling expenses as well as their classmate’s infection. For instance, in this corona pandemic, most parents prefer home education, so their children do not get in touch with others and have less chance to get corona positive.
However, sitting at home and getting an education also carries few drawbacks. We all know that when leaner go to school or attend physical classes, their communication skills would improve, and they get in contact with others and make new friends, which is beneficial for their later life. Furthermore, owing to loneliness, they focus on other indoor activities such as playing video games which is deleterious for their career.
In conclusion, while there are disadvantages of e-learning such as lack of communication skills and alone feeling, these must be outweighed against educational expenses and pupil health. In my view, these advantages outweigh the negative side.
