Many students decide to further their studies abroad. What are the benefits and drawbacks of studying abroad? What is your view on this? What do you prefer? Give reasons for your answer.
Nowadays, students prefer to further their education in a foreign country. In the subsequent paragraphs, I will discuss both the advantages and disadvantages.
There are numerous benefits of studying in another country, and Firstly you become internationally sought after, people tend to appreciate foreign certificate than local degrees. For instance, in my country, you have a chance of attaining a higher position in your profession if you study from another country. Secondly, individuals who further their carrier abroad tend to meet new friends these days, and the connection is everything around the whole world, and you will be able to achieve anything if you are connected to the right person. Lastly, you have a chance to understand other people’s language and culture, different people in the world have diverse ways of speaking, and also behaviours differs.
In contrast, there are some disadvantages of studying overseas, most people are not able to fit in when they are back, take for instance, as a registered nurse in my country who studied abroad, you have to train for additional six months then sit for an examination so as to be alone to practice, but lots of people fail this test of competence. Also, people tend to forget about their own culture and traditions.
In conclusion, I am of the opinion that the advantages of furthering education abroad are more than its disadvantages.
