Some People Believe the Aim of University Education Is to Help Graduates Get Better Jobs

Some people believe the aim of university education is to help graduates get better jobs. Others believe there are much wider benefits of university education for both individuals and society. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

There is a belief in some people that university aims at helping students to graduate for better jobs in contrast to other people believing that there are ample benefits of the university for individuals as well as the society.

On the one hand, the major aspect of the institution is to provide education and make students graduate to get a reliable and fruitful job. To add further, this will make them successful in life and make their parents as well as themselves proud and independent. For instance, if a person is not a graduate or a degree holder, the chances of jobs are less as compared to the ones having a degree. This, in return, cause illiteracy and a shortage of skilled workers, which further drops the level of growth for a progressive country. Thus, having a job after a degree is a must, and that is what the universities are intended for.

On the other hand, university education also provides much wider aspects such as social works and life skills, which are equally important to education. Moreover, getting a job becomes much easier if the person is much more socially active as well as sounds skill full which comes from practicals and education itself that institutions are providing. For example, ‘paul walker’ was a university graduate, but his skills for entertainment and social work were incredible, due to which he received a lifetime award for social work contributing to poor children stuck in the 2002 floods in Africa. Hence, society and individuals have a significant impact on university education not only for studying but also learning the social keys and practicals.

To wrap up, people believing in the aim of university to provide education for getting better jobs is a narrow aspect and for the other ones believing in wider aspects for contribution in society as well as the individual is much practical and healthier way which is for guaranteed a much better aspect of thinking. It will not only improve our society but helps us improve in ourselves, and that will automatically makes us skill full to get our desired job and covers all the aspects.
